Privacy Policy

The short version: we run privacy-respecting analytics to see which reviews are useful, some outbound links to vendors are affiliate links, and we don't sell your data or run creepy ad trackers. The longer version is below.

What we collect

Deep Truth is a static content site. We don't have accounts, logins, or comment sections, so we don't collect names, passwords, or profiles. Two things do involve data:

Affiliate links

Some links to the tools we review are affiliate links. When you click one and later sign up, the vendor's own system may set a cookie so they can credit us with the referral. That cookie is set by the vendor, on the vendor's side, under the vendor's privacy policy, and it lets us earn a commission at no extra cost to you. How we keep those commissions from influencing our reviews is spelled out on the About page.

Cookies

Deep Truth itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics is configured to be as cookie-light as possible. If we ever add a cookie that stores anything about you specifically, this page will say so and you'll be asked first where the law requires it.

Third parties

We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. The only third parties that touch any data are our hosting provider, our analytics provider, and the affiliate networks that process referral tracking when you choose to click through to a vendor. Each operates under its own privacy terms.

Your choices

You can block analytics and cookies with your browser settings or an extension, and the site will work exactly the same. Depending on where you live (for example under UK GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access or request deletion of any personal data a processor holds about you. Because we hold almost nothing tied to your identity, there is usually little to act on, but you can always ask.
